O que é Indie Rock?
Indie rock (ou rock independente em inglês) é um estilo musical que caracteriza bandas que não são lançadas por grandes gravadoras, porém o grande sucesso de algum desses grupos os lançaram diretamente para gravadoras de grande porte, embora o som na maioria dos casos, não perca a identidade, fazendo com que tais bandas, mesmo com o sucesso de público e grande repercussão na mídia, sejam consideradas bandas alternativas
.Em relação aos temas há uma liberdade e variedade de assuntos cantados por bandas deste estilo, não se detectando nenhum assunto que seja mais cantado dentro deste estilo.A grande explosão indie rocker, surgiu no meio da década de 90, na Inglaterra, quando bandas como Pavement, Oasis, Blur e Placebo ganharam as paradas de sucesso em vários países, com essa popularização tais bandas foram consideradas também ícones do chamado Britpop.No começo dos anos 2000 o sucesso das bandas americanas The Strokes e White Stripes colocaram de novo no cenário a curiosidade a cerca das bandas "indie rock" e logo ganharam o holofotes dos meios de comunicação.Atualmente várias bandas surgem e fazem sucesso entre os jovens da geração 2000: Arctic Monkeys, The Killers, Franz Ferdinand, The Raconteurs e Bloc Party, são alguns nomes que representam o novo cenário da música indie. |

The FTP Layer allows file operations (such as installing Extensions or updating the main configuration file) without having to make all the folders and files writable. This has been an issue on Linux and other Unix based platforms in respect of file permissions. This makes the site admin's life a lot easier and increases security of the site. You can check the write status of relevent folders by going to ''Help->System Info" and then in the sub-menu to "Directory Permissions". With the FTP Layer enabled even if all directories are red, Joomla! will operate smoothly. NOTE: the FTP layer is not required on a Windows host/server. |

To ensure this code release, Wilco Jansen resorted to sending rum to joint lead-developer Johan Janssens. Johan, who's had a penchant for rum ever since the first "Pirate's of the Caribbean" movie screened, took the bait, mixed it with Cola, and here we are with our latest 1.5 release. It looks like pirate talk will figure quite a lot in future Joomla! development! |
